# Auto.dev pricing

> Free costs $0 for up to 1,000 API calls a month, with no card. Growth ($299 a month, or $2,988 a year) and Scale ($599 a month, or $5,988 a year) cost the plan plus each API call at that plan's per-call rate. Calls are billed monthly on both monthly and yearly billing. Enterprise is custom.

## How a bill is calculated

A Growth or Scale bill is the plan price plus, for each API you call, the number of calls times that API's per-call rate on your plan.

- Monthly billing: the plan (Growth $299, Scale $599) and that month's calls are billed every month.
- Yearly billing: the plan is quoted per month (Growth $249, Scale $499) and billed once a year: $2,988 for Growth, $5,988 for Scale. Calls are still billed every month.
- Per-call rates are the same on monthly and yearly billing.
- Free: $0, with no card required. It is capped at 1,000 calls a month in total across Global VIN Decode, Vehicle Listings and Vehicle Photos. Requests stop at the limit until the monthly reset, and there is no overage charge.
- Enterprise: custom data fees, licensing and rate limits, agreed with sales rather than bought at checkout.
- A 207 partial answer from Global VIN Decode, Specifications or OEM Build Data is not billed and counts toward no quota.
- Calling an API your plan does not include returns HTTP 402, naming the plan it needs. Going over your plan's rate limit returns HTTP 429. Details: https://docs.auto.dev/v2/reference/errors

### Free

Get 1,000 API calls per month for evaluation and small projects.

- Price: $0. No card required.
- Calls: 1,000 a month in total, capped. Requests stop at the limit.
- Rate limit: 5 requests per second.
- APIs: Global VIN Decode, Vehicle Listings and Vehicle Photos.

### Growth

For growing automotive applications. Usage-based data fees apply.

- Price: $299 a month on monthly billing. On yearly billing, $249 a month, charged once a year as $2,988.
- Calls: Unlimited monthly volume, each billed at its API's Growth rate every month.
- Rate limit: 10 requests per second.
- APIs: everything on Free, plus Specifications, OEM Build Data, Interest Rates, Vehicle Payments, Vehicle Recalls and Total Cost of Ownership.

### Scale

For large-scale automotive platforms. Usage-based data fees apply.

- Price: $599 a month on monthly billing. On yearly billing, $499 a month, charged once a year as $5,988.
- Calls: Unlimited monthly volume, each billed at its API's Scale rate every month.
- Rate limit: 50 requests per second.
- APIs: everything on Growth, plus Plate-to-VIN, Open Recalls and Taxes & Fees.

Rates are USD per call. Endpoints are paths on https://api.auto.dev. First plan is the lowest plan that offers the API; every plan above it offers it too. Included means the API is on Free, within its 1,000 calls a month. Not included means the plan cannot call it.

### What happens if I use all 1,000 included API calls?

On the Free plan your requests stop until the monthly reset. There is no card on file and no overage charge. Upgrade to Growth or Scale to keep going: they add endpoints, higher rate limits, and usage-based data rates beyond the calls included in your plan.
